Aug. 15: Farewell Jess!
Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 10:08AM Parting is such sweet sorrow. Which is why last Sunday was the sweetest, most sorrowful night of trivia yet. Not because Sean wasn't there--that was kind of nice, actually. No, because it was our final night with that belle of the trivia ball, the waitress with the mostest, Jess.

What a beacon of light in our otherwise drab and darkened lives. But I'll always remember her like this--from this random picture I found of her on Facebook:

Take that, privacy!
Trivia's loss is your beautiful baby's gain, Jess. I'm sure little Chuck Tiberius McNab will bring you as much joy as you brought us.
On that note: I hope you'll be back for your official trivia baby shower. We'll do it after the little bugger breaks loose and you've had a chance to convalesce. Trivia faithful and other fans of Jess: Stay posted.
Hey, that reminds me: Next week is Patty's last week as well. What the fuck you guys? You're going to make me cry.
To honor the silver fox, Sean and I are going to dress like Patty this Sunday as we bid him adieu. Your team will get an extra point if you do, too. For costume ideas, consult the films of Brian Dennehy and high school stage productions of Oklahoma!.
And now for the photos of the winners!
Making their victorious return to trivia, and stomping out meddlesome competitors along the way, let's hear it for I'll Catch You in My Death Bag:

Not to be squashed so easily is our second-place team, the brother-sister duo of Blitzen Trapper John, MD:

This guy's team came in third, and if my penmanship doesn't decieve me, their were called Yakeema. But that could be way off.

And finally it's The Specials, who were crushing everyone at half-time but shocked absolutely no one by choking down the stretch. Oh well.. they still got this killer photo, featuring their own beautiful selves with such luminaries as Sub-Host Steve! And That Adam Guy from Shuga Records! And, of course, the pride of Pittsburgh, the Patron Saint of Peachy Potty Humor (long story), the Queen of the Half-Time Tiebreaker (she's retiring with a record of 7-2!), JESS!

That's all folks. See you again next Sunday!
