It had been a couple weeks since I had graced the glamorous Green Mill of Bloomington with my sometimes amazing, usually intolerable presence, and I was please to see plenty of regulars perched at their tables, waiting to start beating the mental crap out of team NaCl. And boy oh boy, did they ever. I don't know if the members of team Salt were tired, sick of winning or just really high, the the inventors of the internet had no answer for the three teams that finished above them. Placing first, the one-man dog and pony show, MN Fan, cleaned house and took home the gold (gift certificate) with 23 points. That's huge for a solo effort. Right behind the Fan were my favorite ladies, Foxy and Roxy, who produced a very respectable 22 points, and enjoyed a serious boost in team and life morale. Taking bronze was Bullet Proof Milk, who casually showed up late and whipped through the night with a very impressive 21 point performance. Besides the absolutely atrocious Texas Tea that I drank (huge mistake), a good time was had by all, and shall be had again next week.

Another week. Another set of mind-blowing trivia questions. Another night of complete domination. I was optimistic at first - walking through the door I thought to myself "self, there are enough people here...there's no way Team NaCl can beat them all..." But I was wrong. I'm so stupid. Team Salt absolutely dismantled the competition. The trivia tyrants tallied up 25 total points, breaking the hearts of every other team, and affirming my belief that they did, in fact, invent the internet.

Second place was a bit trickier - we had a tie at 22 points: everyone's favorite equation, Foxy + Roxy + Me, were locked in a dead heat with 3/5 of Spank, and forced to duke it out sudden death overtime style. F/R/M? Buried by 1/5 of Spank, thus granting the remaining 2/5 of Spank a second place finish which all 3/5 relished. F/R/M ended up with third, bruised but not beaten. They'll be back to claim what's rightfully theirs (booze) next week. In all, even though Team Salt is apparently on a path for world domination, everyone was still able to enjoy themselves, and will do so again next week!

Holy testicle Tuesday! This week had to have been one of the tougher weeks in recent Trivia Mafia history. I must admit, however, that my night got exponentially better as the questions went on, primarily because of the saucy Bulldog drinks Rich was forcing me to drink. Atta a boy, Rich. As I mentioned, this week was pretty challenging, but Bloomington's premier trivia minds were in the house and ended up producing some impressive numbers. At the top of the pile was team Salt (NaCl), who apparently forgot how to lose years ago. It seems these guys haven't suffered a loss in over 15 years, and we've only been doing trivia for 3. They're so smart...I bet they invented the internet. Second place was claimed by Bulletproof Milk, a squad of regulars that always puts out some good stuff. Of course, they didn't invent the internet like team Salt, but hey, they have nothing to be ashamed of. Right behind them was my favorite team of twenty, the Get Money Quick click, who racked up 21 points and bought about $700 worth of appetizers. Of notable mention were Foxy, Roxy and other relative (Loxy?), who, against ALL odds, were able to hit 16 points in a strong moral victory. So proud of you ladies. In all, it was a great week...and will be equaled if not dominated by next Tuesdays crowd. See ya there!
