Lakeville - Photo Adventures, Prize Mishaps, Fettered Dominance - 9/23/10

We hear the word unfettered alot. Or at least I do, "Sean, your unfettered use of the company letterhead to criticize the discontinuance of Boston Market's chicken salad was quite outrageous already, but to utilize the digitized version of the President's signature took it a little too far. Your wings have been clipped Sean, you are no longer the chicken salad emissary for McNally Smith College of Music." That was a tough day. A really tough day.

And in the same way, we saw Just For Fun, the 41 person powerhouse team run afoul of their aspirations last week, parking themselves firmly in 3rd, looking a touch crestfallen. But they returned this week, optimistic that the addition of 23 more people to their team might cinch the deal. I am personally purchasing a copy of "The Coldest Winter" by David Halberstam for the Blue Footed Boobies crew. The book outlines how the U.S. was able to turn a vicious trouncing by the larger Chinese army and turn it into a bloody, difficult stalemate that remains one of our country's most overlooked "police actions". I look forward to one day a line being drawn in the sand between the dining room and the bar for ever and a peace being reached for individuals to achieve their trivia dreams. Only my fantastic bodily gyrations during the song "Tricky" by RUN-DMC will cross the "Bleu Cheese/Ranch Dressing Line". The only exception being if Just for Fun needs to use the restroom, for that we will make an exception.

While self-centerdly talking about myself I will also post a picture of my Tricky Dance! Thanks Team Something Dirty for the fun!

But this week Just for Fun came back and dominated, snapping up a powerful win in the face of worthy adversaries. I ended giving almost everyone a prize, because I was rendered unable to remember for 15 seconds who I had said just won such and such a tiebreaker, so congratulations everybody!

As mentioned Just for Fun did take the W this week, welcome back to top form. We love ya!

(if you note that there aren't seven hundred of them in this photo, they also hide their enemy locations and utlize mobile warfare to astound their opponents, attacking only when they decide whether the song is sung by Bobby Darrin or Frank Sinatra)

The Whitening came in next and performed well. They have also rebranded the Wu-Tang symbol in the spirit of their name. I reserve my judgment on the merit of such rebranding, but I happily send along the picture and salute their work effort. I particularly like the curly haired guy in the back who seems to just be holding his hands across his chest in a big supportive self hug. You deserve love.

I believe that the Cauc-asians were third. Another racially motivated team title, I sense a theme. I have no notes about this name except to say that I have never actually heard this joke before combining the funny first syllable of caucasians with the next two.

The team Flan Peacock. Clearly a play on the fact that it is very unlikely that a peacock would ever enjoy the delicious Spanish (is it Spanish? free drink if you bring me the history of Flan next week) dish. Well played!

And the ladies from Team Bad Witches were very picky about which photo they wanted up on the web. As not discussed I put them all up there. Please vote on your favorite one and I'll have some posters made for next week!

#1 - No glasses, leaning in:

#2 - a poor photo angle, on the other hand we see a lot of commander salamander, bartender phd colin buell, and shane

#3 - glasses on, Colin in the background, wonderful composition, good smiles

Allright, let us know! Thanks! See you next Thursday!
