6/29/2009 -- Feels like September!
Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 12:40PM A dispiriting turnout last night, as only nine teams decided to match wits. My only thought is that they figured that since it felt like football weather, we must have already moved the quiz to Tuesdays. Either that or they took off early for the Glorious Fourth. Or they just don't like me any more. Whatever. The quiz was exceedingly difficult last night, with no one cracking the 90 point barrier. I can be vicious when I feel like it, I guess. Before we start with the recap proper, I'd like to give props to the 4th place team, Tight Pants Orgasm. Great name.
In third place, with 68 points, here are Movers and Shakers.
See, the joke is that the woman in the cap is actually moving. To DC. That makes, by my count, three trivia regulars who've moved to DC in the last two months. Is this some part of the stimulus bill that I haven't heard about? Anyway, they did well on celebrity moms and city skylines. As for the other part of their name...
In second place, with 72 points, are the newcomers Connect Four.
Wow, they can count! To my knowledge, this is the first team who found us thanks to Facebook, proof that viral marketing works, I guess. Why is the gift card hiding behind a pint glass? They also did well in celebrity moms and was better in the fruit category than anyone else. Well done!
In first place, with 88 points, are those mavens known as The Booze Brothers.
One of these days, I might get a shot of them without their eyes closed. But see, this is how you show your prize! Discreetly, but openly. Besides celebrity moms, these guys also did well in the first round, which means that they keep up on current events. They also told me how difficult the quiz was this time around. Uh, thanks, I think.
