We <3 trivia -- 2-13-12

Yup, we do love our trivia, even on the night before St. Valentine's Day. We had 15 teams compete all the way through, and we had a number of ties to break, though it felt wrong to break ties so close to the day where so many ties are made. Can I turn off the cheese now?  

Our LSS winner, with 23 points (I think it was 26, it might have been 23, but I lost the paper I wrote the results on), is Orlando Magic.

As I said at the time, "Sure the Magic can beat the Wolves, but they are bad at trivia!" Enjoy your book.

We had a four-way tie for third place. At first it was a two-way tie, then I discovered some addition problems and made it a three way tie, then I found that I had missed two perfectly acceptable answers on another answer sheet. My head cold addled my brain, I guess. Anyway, after breaking the tie at 44 points, we have Gutcheck in 3rd place.

They even 'fessed up afer I gave them the 1st place prize! A job well done.

There was a two-way tie for first at 47 points between entrenched trivianauts Just the Tip, Just to see how it Feels and newcomers Xtreme Grape. After we broke the tie, Just the Tip finished second.

Another week, another gift card. Who will be the three teams to push this group out of the top three? Not that I ever cheer for or against anyone, but turmoil always benefits the quiz.

In first place, breathing a sigh of relief, the oft-third place Xtreme Grape!

They had to come across town to do it, but they finally triumphed. Will this be a blip or a long run? We'll start to find out next week, I guess.

I hope by then that I feel better because this cold is kicking my ass. I will be sanitizing the microphone either way, I think. We will see you then with your thinking caps on!
