Almost perfect, the symbol reigns supreme nacho's are delicious...
Friday, March 26, 2010 at 05:53PM It was quieter night at the A.V.O.C., but the teams that did come out
represented some of the best and brightest the fine dinning establishment
has to offer. Ramrod? Check. The Unluckiest Focks? You bet. Beer of Norm?
And how! Boner Patrol? Absent, but their glorious name lives on via my
intense immaturity. Of course, any night of trivia wouldn't be complete
without The Symbol, and they came out in full force. "How full was this
force?" you ask, not knowing why you even care. I appreciate your
curiosity, and I'll tell you: VERY FULL. These dudes and dudettes racked up
an almost unbeatable 29 points, with their only blemish coming from the
"Celebrity Mohawks" image round. Apparently they're not hip to the new
bi-curious mohawk Eddie Vedder's rockin'.
Second place was just as interesting: The Unluckiest Focks came out of
temporary retirement to put up a very solid 28 points, but their effort was
matched by a group of trivia new-comers - The Movers & Shakers. A tie?
You know what that means! On to the pants-crapping-uber-intense sudden
death round! A question was asked and answered, and just as their name
suggests, the unluckiest team of the night was comprised of none other than
the The Unluckiest Focks. The Movers and Shakers nailed the question, took
second place and fought to the death over their $10 Half Price Book gift
card. In all, this past Wednesday was like a trivia all-star break - most
of the top placing teams were in attendance and none disappointed, as most
were within 3 points of first. As always, a great time was had by all and
will be had again next week!
First: The Symbol: 29
Second: The Movers & Shakers - 28 +1
Honorable Mention: The Unluckiest Focks - 28
Dishonorable Mention: The Ramrod - NOT 30 points
